Abstract Giuliano Fleri

Giuliano Fleri is a PhD candidate in International History and Politics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies of Geneva. For his research on Mediterranean migrations he has been awarded a Doc.Mobility scholarship by the Swiss National Science Foundation. His research focuses on the history of movements, identities and encounters in Channel of Sicily and on the historical fil rouge connecting the various phases of the history of Italy as a country of immigration, from post-colonial mobilities up until the establishments of dangerous Mediterranean journeys. His latest article ‘The Re(Birth) of a Mediterranean Migration System. The Case of Tunisian Migration in Sicily’ was published in the Journal of Modern Italian Studies.
