Academic Biography

  • 2021 - to date: Junior Professor for Social Anthropology of Cultural Expressions at the Department for European Ethnology, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
  • 2019 - 2021: Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow with the Centre for Anthropological Research on Museums and Heritage (CARMAH) and Prussian Heritage Foundation. Research project: Ethnographic exploration of the collections of the Museum of European Cultures (MEK)     
  • 2018 - 2020: Guest lecturer at Imperial College London
  • 2019: UK Project Coordinator for E-RIHS Preparatory Phase (European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science) based at UCL Institute for Sustainable Heritage. Included a 6-month secondment at UK Research and Innovation for the development of the UK's Research Infrastructure Roadmap
  • 2016 - 2017: Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Knowledge, Culture and Society, University of Bristol. Research project: Reinventing Learning Cities (AHRC-funded)   
  • 2014 - 2016: Associate Lecturer at the Department of Anthropology, Goldsmiths

  • 2010 - 2015: PhD in Anthropology at Goldsmiths College, University of London in collaboration with the Horniman Museum. Research project: Beyond the Horniman Museum: History, Heritage and Craftmanship in a collection of Romanian artefacts
