Affective Materiality and its Relation to the Transformation of Public Space

The process of producing ambient faith reveals how the private and public spheres can fuse with sensorium to change the consciousness of individuals who circulate in that space. Yet, there are a variety of sources and dynamics producing ambient faith.  Implicit in our conceptions of Christianity is frequently an exclusive consideration of Protestantism and Catholicism. What do we miss when we refuse to take into account Orthodox Christianity, and the role it might play in political and public life in the “other” Europe?
