Profil

Adela Taleb schloss ihr Studium an der School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, mit einem M.A. in Near and Middle Eastern Studies ab. Zuvor studierte sie Europäische Ethnologie, Religionswissenschaft und Politikwissenschaft an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU). In ihrer Dissertation verschiebt sie ihren Regionalfokus vom MENA Raum nach Europa, wobei sie ihr Forschungsinteresse hinsichtlich moderner Entwicklungen im Islam, sowie Postkolonialer, Dekolonialer und Kritischer Theorie fortführt. Seit 2019 befasst sie sich neben ihrer Dissertation intensiv mit Debatten rund um die Umbenennung der M*str. in Berlin, ist Gründungsmitglied des  Amo Kollektives Berlin und hat in diesem Kontext den Ansatz des Dekolonialen Flanierens geprägt.

Projektbeschreibung

Das Dissertationsprojekt befasst sich mit der Formation des “Europäischen Islam” aus diskursanalytischer Perspektive. Hierbei werden insbesondere Subjektivierungsprozesse, sowie Machtinstrumente und Normsetzungsmechanismen im Bezug auf “Islam” und “Europa” genauer betrachtet.
