Laboratory Migration

The title „Labor Migration“ (Laboratory Migration) applies in two aspects: We want to think about and discuss migration as a laboratory of social and cultural developments, and we want to critically reflect on and revise migration research within the laboratory. Since 2010 the laboratory is engaged in current debates about critical migration research in Berlin and cooperates closely with related initiatives and institutions that work in similar research fields.

“Labor Migration” is a cross-hierarchical and self-organized space for discussions that connects researchers (students, doctoral candidates, postdocs and staff) of the Institute of European Ethnology with interested “externals” along common lines of shared expertise and involvement. Further suggestions and newcomers who are interested in our work are very welcome!
